6 - Day Combination Bareboat Cruising Class
from 9AM to 4PM based on availablility and weather conditions.
Successfully complete this level and you'll be ready to set sail on week long cruises or bareboat charters to exotic tropical destinations aboard cruising sailboats up to 40' in length. You will be very confident in your level of sailing skills and boating competence. This level is required by most Bareboat Charter Companies worldwide.
Course includes: All text materials & all 3 Certifications ; 1 1/2 hrs per day classroom instruction and 5 - 6 hours of on the water instruction each day, and 6 nights aboard our vessel at no additional charge.
This is a live aboard course.No prior sailing experience is required. This accellerated class combines 9 days of instruction into 6. There are 3 written exams and 3 on the water sailing tests required for the 3 Certifications that are issued to successful graduates. Taught aboard our Irwin 34' or C&C 36' sloops. There is a lot of material covered in this course, but at a pace that most people can handle comfortably over 6 days.
We limit the class size to only 2 persons unless you request others in your party. By keeping our class size smaller than other sailing schools do we can focus on the individual needs of couples, or individuals and provide you with a much higher level of sailing instruction than you can imagine was ever possible. This class offers more days of sailing and gives you more experience sailing larger boats. This is our "Premier Level" of instruction for sailors who really want to bareboat charter, or own their own boat and want to know how to sail very well in all weather and sea conditions. More boat handling skills are taught here than in any other sailing class. Because of the smaller class size and 6 full days on the water your sailing and boat handling skills will be better than you could imagine. Plotting courses, trimming sails, docking, anchoring, steering compass courses, radio techniques, heavy weather sailing. and much more are covered in good detail. Your confidence and ability to skipper a larger cruising sailboat will be realized. In addition you will learn the systems aboard and how to deal confidently with problems as they arise.
