3 - Day Basic Keelboat : "Learn to Sail " Class
Students will learn to responsibly skipper and crew a simple daysailing
keelboat in familiar waters with light to moderate wind and sea conditions.
Classes are taught on board our J/24 monohull
sloops with outboard motors and tiller steering. This is an introductory
course, designed to provide the new sailor with a solid foundation on
which to build future sailing skills. You will be learning about parts
of the boat, sailing language or nomenclature, knots, rigging the boat,
leaving and returning to the dock or mooring, points of sail, safety
procedures, sailing a course, maneuvering and securing the boat.
Once certified you'll be able to confidently sail aboard your own or
rented keelboat up to 30' in length for relaxing outtings or great daysailing
adventures in local waters and moderate weather conditions.
3 - Day Basic Keelboat "Learn to Sail" Classes
Are offered weekly year round on any 3 consecutive days
from 9AM to 4PM
Course includes: All text materials & Certificate;
1 1/2 hrs per day classroom instruction
and 5 - 6 hours of on the water instruction. This is
a non-liveaboard Class.
Graduates are awarded:
US SAILING Basic Keelboat Certification or
ASA 101 Certification
